Q + A

When should I RSVP by? How do I RSVP?

We encourage everyone to RSVP and reserve any accommodations as soon as possible. The final date for RSVP's will be July 19. 2025. If we have not heard from you by then, we will assume you are unable to attend and there may not be a seat or food for you. We would love for everyone to RSVP here on our wedding website. If you are unable to do so or have complications, please text/call Alonnah or Shae to let us know.

Can I bring a plus one?

We have tried to give everyone we can a plus one. We do have a limited space and budget. If you have not been given a plus one and would like one, please reach out to Alonnah or Shae to see if we are able to accommodate you.

Are Kids Allowed?

Yes! We do want to encourage all of our friends and family to enjoy a night away from your kids, however, with three of them ourselves, we understand that is not always possible! We would rather you bring your children along than miss our big day. However, please remember that you are still responsible for your own children and they must have adequate supervision. Also, please make sure we have allocated the correct number on your RSVP so we have an accurate headcount!

Will this be family friendly?

This is at your discretion. We are more than happy to have everyone join us. We will keep music and dancing PG/PG-13 until about 8 pm. After that, music can contain explicit language and we will be dancing! If you do not feel like that is suitable for you or your children, we would still love for you to join us up until 8 pm, or you are more than welcome to help yourself to any games & activities we have available.

What is the dress code?

We would prefer everyone to be dressed up in semi-formal attire! We have a "wildflower" theme going, so we encourage everyone to wear floral or colorful attire, but anything you feel comfortable in is great. Just bring your dancing shoes! Please no white, ivory, or cream shades. If you're not sure, please feel free to ask the bride or groom! I know some weddings ask you not to wear red, but red is fine.

Will there be food?

Of course! We will have a buffet, snacks, and a few dessert options throughout the night. Our buffet includes: Red Chili-Glazed Chicken or Oven Baked Ham, Roasted Mixed Vegetables, Roasted Red Potatoes, Seven-Layer Salad, Rolls & Butter. Chicken tenders can be provided for children if they would prefer that over our entree options. Please let us know on your RSVP which entree option each guest would like and if you have any dietary restrictions/ allergies.

Will there be alcohol? Is it open or cash bar?

We will be providing all soft drinks and bottled water. We also plan to have iced tea and lemonade. We will have an open bar for beer. Wine, seltzers, and mixed drinks can be provided, but will be part of a cash bar. There is no ATM onsite at the reception venue. Please plan accordingly. The bar will be open around 4pm at the start of cocktail hour and last call will be at 10 pm.

Are photos allowed?

We have hired a great photographer for our day! We will give our guests a brief moment to capture a photo. Afterwards, please silence your phones and put them away. We ask that all guests refrain from taking pictures during the remainder of the ceremony. As for the reception, we are encouraging all of our friends and family to take photos and videos throughout the night. We have created an album and would love everyone to upload all of them to so we can see all of the great moments you captured! In addition, there will be a photobooth at the reception and we would love for all of you to utilize it!

Where should I park? Is there a shuttle? Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

The ceremony venue is the Evelyn Chapel on Illinois Wesleyan University's campus. On the back side of the building, there is a parking lot we are able to use. If for any reason you are unable to find that parking lot or it is full, it is a weekend and you should be able to park in any other free lot. The reception will be held at Normal Community Activity Center. There should be ample parking on-site on the front and backside of the building. At this time, we have not reserved a shuttle service, so please plan accordingly and do not drink & drive. Both venues are wheelchair accessible.

What weather can I expect?

It will be August in the Midwest, so we are assuming that it will be hot and sunny outside. However, our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be indoors.
